—— The key link of precise control of "hardness"

The boiler system has extremely high requirements for the quality of inlet water, among which the hardness of water is the core factor that determines the safe operation and life of the boiler. Unsoftened raw water contains a large amount of calcium and magnesium ions, which are very easy to form scale under high temperature and high pressure, causing reduced thermal efficiency, equipment corrosion, pipe burst accidents, and extremely high operating risks.
The water quality indicators of boiler softened water must be strictly controlled, with the following characteristics:
The hardness requirement is extremely strict: the total hardness of medium and low pressure boiler inlet water should be less than 0.03mmol/L (≒3mg/L CaCO₃), and high pressure boilers even require close to "zero hardness".
High continuous stability requirements: The softening system needs to achieve 24-hour stable water supply to prevent the hardness exceeding the standard from entering the boiler instantly and causing under-scale corrosion.
Raw water varies greatly: the incoming water may be municipal tap water, groundwater or surface water, with hardness differences ranging from 2–10mmol/L (≒200–1000mg/L CaCO₃), and a targeted softening solution needs to be designed.
High requirements for operating economy: large and medium-sized boilers consume tens to hundreds of tons of water per day, and the softening system must have high efficiency, low consumption and sustainable operation capabilities.
